Infertility Information

The definition of infertility, generally accepted, is the inability to conceive after having regular intercourse for at least a year. If you find yourself in that position and have that definition applied to you, it’s pretty certain that you are anxious and concerned.

Be aware that tens of thousands of couples, perhaps more, all over the world who have qualified at one time for that “diagnosis,’ are now parents of their own naturally born children, mostly as a result of having gained significant infertility information

And you can be, too!

The difference is either luck (they did nothing and eventually conceived) or applied knowledge (they learned about the possible reasons for their infertility, investigated them carefully, discovered the likely cause or causes , and dealt with it successfully.)

We believe that you can defeat infertility, but only through knowledge, through learning as much as you possible can, and dealing with it to make it a forgotten word, no longer applicable to your life. At this website we will collect and publish all the latest data we can find for your use and betterment. Find it here, read it, learn it and use it.

To begin with, it is true that most of the problems involved with infertility pertain to the woman. Her reproductive system is much more involved than the man’s and therefore presents more areas where there could be “problems.”

More than half of infertility problems can be traced here. The other causes are due to sperm irregularities or else can’t be explained. Ovulation problems is one of the first conditions to look at. Also, there is tubal ligation, another possible infertility cause.

As the woman ages, it becomes more difficult to conceive for perfectly normal reasons. The average egg loss is over 1000/ month, and conditions more likely to arise are PCOS and endometriosis. Also, if the woman has had any STDs, they may have left her with some fertility issues.

A major cause is also PID, or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. It is a very serious result of having had serious pelvic inflammation  by having ignored proper treatment for previous cervical infections like gonorrhea or Chlamydia.

Bacterial infections which invade the uterus and the fallopian tubes, as well as the ovaries can leave scarring which can block the passage of the eggs through the fallopian tubes. But this in and of itself is not a final verdict as many women who are properly treated for their PID will accomplish pregnancy with IVF (in vitro fertilization).

Polycystic ovarian syndrome, a hormonal disorder, is another leading cause of infertility. PCOS interferes with the normal ovulation cycle, causing many irregularities. It can be treated with certain medication such as Metformin which helps the body to absorb insulin, helping to reduce the effects of PCOS and thereby stabilize the woman’s hormone levels.

There are many reasons why hormone levels can be made unwelcoming to conception and these levels will need to be checked to determine the present candidate condition. The hypothalamus, the pancreas, the testes and the ovaries, plus the adrenal, thyroid and pituitary glands all produce hormones and any disease which affects any one of these could be a culprit behind the infertility.

Let’s not overlook non-medical reasons, either. There is smoking, too much alcohol or other substances, weight problems, STDs and even too much exercise, not to mention a real big one, stress.. Any and all of these are just a few issues which can cause infertility in perfectly healthy (otherwise) couples.

Trying to conceive can be approached in many ways, but whatever you do please remember that it will be better if you can give yourselves a break and try hard not to stress out. Stress, after all might well be the most common cause of this difficulty some couples face.

We will be including articles on reducing stress as well as many other very informative ones on all of these aspects and more. Help yourself to the free mini-course offered here. It’s a great start to prepare yourself for dealing seriously with the issue. Believe and you will succeed!
